Rama Masri Zada is an independent Syrian journalist, radio broadcaster, and filmmaker. She worked for many TV and radio stations in the Middle East as a TV correspondent and news presenter. She prepared reports, features, and short films about social and humanitarian issues, specializing in women’s and children’s rights in the Middle East. In 2010 she received the UNICEF Regional Award for the best TV report in MENA (Middle East and North Africa). She is a second year UCF student studying Film MFA. Currently, Rama is working on her thesis film, which is about political detention, and its implications on the detainee, both physically and psychologically. She plans to produce and present her thesis film in a new and untraditional fashion.
