Biography

Judson French, Jr. is CEO and principal strategy consultant at The Nexxt Group LLC, an international strategic innovation consultancy serving industry, education, workforce, economic development and governmental organizations.  He also serves as Director of Research & Innovation Initiatives for the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts.

After founding his first corporation in high school, Jud has gone on to senior management and executive positions in organizations ranging from Fortune 500 technology and defense firms (Westinghouse, Northrop-Grumman and Harris Corporation) to creative media and broadcasting organizations, strategy and training consultancies, and non-profit/educational organizations; always focused on the effective research, development, introduction and implementation of leading edge technologies within organization for new applications and markets.

His roles and responsibilities have included executive leadership, advanced development and new product development, internal & contractual R&D, domestic and international business development, marketing and training; and business area, program, association and conference management.

Mr. French served as Director of the Employ Florida Banner Center for Digital Media developing state-of-the-art training for the digital media industry, and was a founding partner in the Interactive Entertainment Institute, where he executive produced the highly-regarded international G.A.M.E.S. Synergy Summit.  He was the originator and Executive Director of the award winning Harris/PBS DTV Express 49 city/15 month touring educational initiative introducing 22,550 participants to the transition to digital television.  He was also the founding Executive Producer and co-creator of the Otronicon video game, simulation and interactive technology exposition now entering its 11th year at the Orlando Science Center. Mr. French serves on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations including Digital Media Alliance Florida, the State’s non-profit industry association for digital and interactive media, arts and entertainment which he co-founded in 2002, Film Florida, where he serves on the Executive Board as 1st VP and chairs its Strategic Futures Committee, and the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission. He also serves as an advisor to the digital media educational programs for Florida State University, Valencia College, Orlando Tech and others.
